Samuel L. Jackson was trending on Twitter on his birthday after fans noticed his account was 'liking' several X-rated adult content videos.

Lots of his followers were trying to warn him, saying he had forgotten to switch to a private account because his likes were visible to all.

However, it may well be that his account is run by a third party, ie a member of his team, or he may well have been hacked.

After Samuel's name was trending, the likes were subsequently removed but not before eagle-eyed followers screengrabbed them. His fans wrote: 'I'm so glad someone posted this. He went and unliked everything so I missed it. Lol i think everyone loves him even more after this lole  a grown man who cares lol.'He forgot to switch to his private account.'

Samuel L. Jackson was the subject of an embarrassing Twitter gaffe after seemingly not realising his 'likes' on the social media platform were public.

The Hollywood star appeared to treat himself on his 74th birthday on Wednesday (December 21) by reportedly viewing several X-rated porn videos.

Samuel L. Jackson has never been much for self censorship, and has come under fire for his most recent tweet about the Donald trump administration: “Must have been a party at The White House, Mitch [McConnell], Paul [Ryan], Rudy [Giuliani] & others were spotted wearing knee pads & carrying these lined up outside. Happy Birthday.”

Accompanying the tweet is a photo of “After Dick Mints,” a novelty item that comes with the tagline “Going down?” According to Page Six, “Firefly” actor Adam Baldwin responded, “Gay shaming?” in a since-deleted tweet. More than 1,500 people have responded to Jackson’s tweet, some in support and some in anger. Judging by his Instagram, Jackson seems unfazed:
