Sharpe and Sanders met for the pod in a Colorado training room where the latter was getting a foot massage.
Just imagine putting Shannon Sharpe and Deion Sanders in the same room for an hour and a half.
Well, it happened recently on Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay" podcast - and it went just as you'd expect.
Sharpe flew out to Boulder, Colo., to have the new University of Colorado head coach on his show.
Sharpe and Skip Bayless were embroiled in a Tom Brady debate, as is the case on many Mondays on FS1’s “Undisputed,” when Sharpe took exception to a comparison Bayless made about Sharpe and Brady.
“This man is playing at a high level at 45 when you had to stop at 35,” Bayless said
That’s what you do,” Sharpe griped in response. “Every time I call something into question, I get it … I did what I did! You make it seem like I was a bum! I’m in the effin’ Hall of Fame. I got three Super Bowls!”
Bayless asked what that has to do with anything, and said Brady was way better an NFL player than Sharpe. Sharpe repeatedly accused Bayless of taking personal shots at him, and Bayless asked Sharpe to put his glasses back on.
Bayless told Sharpe that he was disrespecting Brady and that doing so is “beneath your dignity.”
Brady struggled mightily on Sunday, throwing for just 4.6 yards per attempt with one touchdown and two interceptions as the 49ers decimated his Buccaneers, 35-7.
Sharpe interviewed Sanders for his “Club Shay Shay” show in an episode that was published on Wednesday. The two covered multiple subjects during the interview, but the part that drew the most attention online involved Sharpe roasting Sanders.
Sanders infamously dealt with some serious health issues last year and was unable to coach for a few of Jackson State’s games. At one point, doctors feared that Sanders would need his leg amputated. He ended up losing two toes on his left foot and has a somewhat mangled left calf as a result of the issues.
