Simon Cowell’s death

Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend Sinitta was terrified after someone pranked her that the music mogul has died

Simon Cowell spoke out on Tuesday (Aug. 9) about the tragic passing of America’s Got Talent contestant Nolan Neal.

Neal, who competed in the 2020 season of the hit NBC talent show, passed away last month at his home in Nashville. An exact cause of death was not announced by his cousin, Dylan Seals, said in a statement that the singer “ultimately succumbed to his battle with substance abuse.” Prior to his stint on AGT, Neal also appeared on Season 10 of The Voice back in 2016.

The 63-year-old TV personality sparked concern after “Britain’s Got Talent” posted a now-deleted selfie video of him urging people to audition next season. Some fans were quick to say Simon looked unrecognizable and made assumptions about receiving Botox injections. “Oh no Simon enough with the Botox please,” one fan tweeted. Earlier this year, The “BGT” judge revealed to The Sun that he stopped getting botox and filler.

I got to the point where they built the set and I started to get anxious and then really stressed out, and I just walked out the meeting,” Cowell, 63, told E! News.

“I just said I literally couldn’t do this. I just couldn’t talk to people all day long. I’m not very good at talking.”

While we won’t see the “X Factor” creator interview famous faces anytime soon, Cowell’s talent shows did open the door into the talk show arena for past contestants.

Singers Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, who both found fame after appearing on American Idol, have gone on to secure successful talk shows.

The “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker launched “The Kelly Clarkson Show” in 2019, and it’s been soaring in viewing figures ever since.

The talk show is produced and distributed by NBCUniversal Television Distribution, airs in 100% of the country on more than 200 stations, with the NBC O&Os as the core station group.

Simon Cowell, often known for his icy and straightforward demeanor, was recently unexpectedly candid about how much it has affected him to experience the passing of so many of its contestants through the years.

Nolan died aged 41 on 18 July, though authorities have not yet determined the cause of death. The Nashville-based musician appeared on Season 15 of America's Got Talent as well as on seasons ten and eleven of The Voice.

He had previously revealed during his audition for AGT in 2020 that he was in recovery from addiction, and said he hadn't touched "the hard stuff" in 15 years.

Speaking of the tragic passing of several contestants, Simon admitted: "Unfortunately, it happens too much over the years."

He also acknowledged contestant Nightbirde's tragic four-year battle with cancer, of which she died. She had been a part of AGT's season 16.

Simon confessed: "After the last three years, it's been tough. And then, you think everything's OK and then something hits you like a story like that and it's hard. But all I can say is, what I've learned from this, is that you just take every day as it is and you try and stay positive, you try and stay healthy."
