Kellie Pickler’s husband, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, was found dead in an apparent suicide at the singer’s home in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday. He was 49.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, a 911 call was received at 1:21 p.m. on Friday from a home on Sneed Road. Upon arrival, the fire department “located resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office. Cops said they received a 911 call at 1:21 p.m. from the house and found Jacobs, 49, with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound in a locked bedroom.

In 2015, they starred in a CMT reality show about their relationship, titled “I Love Kellie Pickler.”

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said Friday in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that Jacobs’ death was being investigated as an apparent suicide.
Emergency personnel found Jacobs’ body in the couple’s Nashville home after receiving a 911 call, police said. “Mr. Jacobs’ wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him,” according to the statement. “After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911.”
The Nashville Police Department confirms in a statement shared with PEOPLE that the Department of Emergency Communications was alerted to a home on Friday at 1:21 p.m. local time.
Police and the Nashville Fire Department arrived at the location and found the songwriter "deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound," they said in the statement.
