Jay Briscoe passed away at 38-years-old in an automobile accident. The entire pro wrestling world is in shock, and many fans and peers went to Jay Briscoe’s Twitter account to pay their respects. A fatal car collision in Laurel left two dead Tuesday evening according to Delaware State Police. The incident occurred in the area of Laurel Road and Little Hill Road around 5:30 pm and caused an extended road closure.” No names were released at the time of the report,

Brian James commented on Jay Briscoe’s photo to say, “You made the ‘D’ look like a “13” but I dig it!” That tweet was sent out prior to the news breaking of Jay Briscoe’s passing. Shortly afterward, plenty more commented on this photo of Dem Boys to pay their respects

The news of Jay Briscoe's tragic death has shaken the wrestling community, with scores of wrestlers and fans taking to social media to remember the life and career of the ROH icon. 

ROH, the promotion that will forever be linked to Jay, leads the tributes with the following message:

"It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the tragic passing of Jamin Pugh, known to wrestling fans around the world as Jay Briscoe," ROH/AEW wrote on Twitter. "Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and his fans."


Impact Wrestling referred to Jay as "a trailblazer" for giving his blood, sweat and tears to the wrestling business.

"IMPACT is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Jay Briscoe," Impact wrote on Twitter. "Jay will always be remembered as a trailblazer who, with his brother Mark, left it in the ring every night. We send our sincere condolences to his family, who he loved beyond words, as well as his friends and fans."

Jamin Pugh has passed away," Khan tweeted. "Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today. Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We'll do whatever we can to support his family."

Heard this tragic news while flying," Matt tweeted. "I'm DEVASTATED that Jay Briscoe (Jamin Pugh) tragically died today. I was honored to work with him many times. I loved Jay. Jay was SO real. Jay loved his wife & kids more than anything & we shared that bond. I'm heartbroken for his family."

AEW star Chris Jericho tweeted, "Please pray for @jaybriscoe84's family. Trust me this is worse than you think."

Veteran ROH announcer Ian Riccaboni, who called the action for The Briscoes' final ROH match at Final Battle, touched upon the close friendship he developed with "Dem Boyz" over the years."Jay was one of a kind," Riccaboni tweeted. I traveled often with Jay and Mark. We couldn't have been more different but that's what made our friendship something I'll cherish forever. He'd give you the shirt off his back, his last dime. He was so proud of his kids. Loved his family so much."
